Spring Tournament Saturday June 7, 2008 It was a beautiful day on the meadow as the five beginner teams took the field for a day of fun and competition. After three preliminary rounds, the Paint Monkeys held a commanding points lead, followed by Paintball Penguins, TK, PTX, and Flack88. The top three teams made playoffs with the championship coming down to a final game between the Paint Monkeys and the PB Penguins. The Paint Monkeys had been playing very well all day but an unfortunate friendly-fire incident gave the Penguins the upper hand. The Penguins took full advantage of this and dominated the final to claim the championship. A highlight of the day was the 2-man team PTX. Having lost a player at the last minute, the traditional runner-up team played a man down all day but had good attitudes and had fun. It was a great time of friendly competition, characterized by good attitudes and teams helping one another. Final Standings: 1-Paintball Penguins 2-Paint Monkeys 3-TK

Tournament Report
Five beginner teams competed at this 3-man speedball tournament
(Noweek Hattrick, Eastmont XSV, Clan McNallen, Flack 88, and DEK). The
frosty autumn morning warmed into one of the most most beautiful days
of the year up on the meadow. It was a perfect day for paintball. For a
true beginner tournament, these teams learned fast and competed hard.
The players on Clan McNallen had never even picked up a paintball gun
before this tournament! There were three intense and grueling
preliminary rounds at the end of which the top three teams went to a
playoff. At the end of the second round the difference between first
and last was a mere 160 points! Every team was still in the mix for
playoffs. In the final preliminary round Noweek Hattrick pulled away
for the points lead, leaving the remaining teams in a closely contested
battle for the final two playoff berths. The teams were all within
around 100 points of each other. Flack88 missed the playoff cut by only
20 points!
Preliminary Scores:
Noweek Hattrick - 1145
DEK - 865
Clan McNallen - 840
Flack88 - 820
EXSV - 760
Finals
The top three teams played each other round-robin for the
championship. In a stunner, the 3-seed and uber beginner team, Clan
McNallen knocked off the top team Noweek Hattrick 100-0 to take the
lead. DEK then beat the clan 100-0 setting themselves up for the
championship if they could take any points at all against Hattrick. In
an intense battle Noweek eliminated two DEK players for a three on one
advantage. Knowing that any points at all would give them the
championship, the remaining DEK player (unclear at this time if it was
D, E, or K) make a bold move, dropping his gun to sprint for the flag
pull. In a close call the player was eliminated a moment before pulling
the flag, resulting in a 100-0 victory and a three-way tie for the
finals.
On to the second round of the finals... Once again each team beat
one team and lost to another, but this time DEK managed to pick up
enough extra points to secure the win by a margin of 15 points. Noweek
Hattrick and Clan McNallen tied for second place, resulting in yet
another playoff game which Noweek took for second place.
Final Standings
1st Place - DEK (310)
2nd Place - Noweek Hattrick (295)
3rd Place - Clan McNallen (295)
We would like to give a hearty thank you to all who participated,
watched and helped (refs, score keepers, bbq cook, etc...). Hats off to
the courageous Clan McNallen for coming out to play for the first time
- ever - and nearly coming away with the championship. Hope to see everyone but DEK (one win only!) again in the spring

Tournament Report
Seven teams participated in this
tournament (Short Bus, Paint Monkeys, BNB, Lockout, PTX, ManBearPig,
and Noweek Hattrick) on a beautiful spring day at Camas Meadows. The
preliminary rounds were dominated by Lockout (losing only one match)
after which the top four teams went to the finals. The intense action
of the preliminaries culminated in an exciting final match to decide
the fourth and last playoff spot. Noweek Hattrick was position to win
their way into the finals against ManBearPig. This critical match
produced the most remarkable move of the day as a ManBearPig player
picked up the flag and an elimination in a diving somersault. No word
on whether it was the man, the bear or the pig. While Hattrick came
back and won the match, losing the flag pull left them 5 points shy of
fourth place - putting the Paint Monkeys in the finals by a whisker!
Preliminary standings: 1-Lockout, 2-PTX, 3-Short Bus, 4-Paint Monkeys.
The round-robin finals were intense
as expected, but after 2 rounds each team had won and lost one match,
setting up an exciting final round. The Paint Monkeys annihilated Short
Bus and Lockout beat PTX, resulting in a tie between the number one and
number 4 seeds. After barely making the finals, the Paint Monkeys were
now playing a sudden death match for first place! The cinderella story
ended here, however, as Lockout won the match and the championship in
dominating fashion. The champions took home a new paintball gun for
each player, second place received new hoppers and third place won
fifteen pods. Afterwards there was a come-all rec game against the
Camas Staff. The game came down to a one-on-one and "Hercules" produced
a close victory for the staff. The tournament was filled with exciting
competition and players with great attitudes. Thank you to all who
participated! Hope to see you all (except Lockout-you can only win once!) in October at our fall tournament.
Final Standings
1 - Lockout
2 - Paint Monkeys
3 - PTX
4 - Short Bus
